YouTube destinations are created from the Connectors section. Click the + button to open the destination picker.
YouTube exposes two distinct connection types — choosing the right one depends on the intended use.
| TYPE | BADGE | DESCRIPTION |
| YouTube Channel | Direct publication | The standard YouTube destination. Connects to a YouTube channel via OAuth and enables video upload and live streaming. This is the type to use for publishing content. Requires the channel owner to authorize the Wildmoka application. |
| Partner Administrator Account | ContentID only · Not for publishing | Used exclusively to register a YouTube Partner (CMS) admin account for ContentID / monetization. This account CANNOT publish videos directly. A warning is shown before proceeding. |
Connecting a YouTube Channel
Here is the standard flow for a channel that will publish content directly:
- Select a YouTube application — Choose: Select Wildmoka YouTube Application (recommended), create a new one (requires a Google Cloud project), or select an already created one.
- Google authorization window opens — A Google OAuth window launches automatically after selecting the application.
- Check which Google account is active — If a Google account is already logged in the browser, it will be used by default. Verify this is the correct channel owner account before proceeding.
- Select the channel — If the account has multiple YouTube channels, Google will prompt for a selection. If there is only one channel it is selected automatically. The account must have at least one channel — the process will fail otherwise.
- Authorize the application — Google shows the permission consent screen. Click Allow to grant Wildmoka access.
Connecting a YouTube Partner Administrator Account
Acknowledge the warning — A dialog warns that this account type is for ContentID / monetization only, not for direct publication. Click Continue.
- Select a YouTube Partner application — Choose: the application associated with the Partner account, create a new one, or select an already created one. The application must be created under a YouTube Partner account.
- Must log in with the administrator account — When Google opens, log in (or confirm) with the Partner administrator account — not a regular channel account.
- Select the administrator account — When Google lists accounts, select the YouTube Partner administrator one.
- Authorize the application — Google shows the permission consent screen. Click Allow.
Google OAuth Permissions Requested
The same four permissions are requested for both Channel and Partner Administrator account types (shown in the Google consent screen as 'Wildmoka would like to'):
- View your basic profile info
- Manage your YouTube account
- View and manage your assets and associated content on YouTube
- Manage your YouTube videos
