Wildmoka supports YouTube live broadcasts via restream (Restream Studio), liverooms (Live Studio), and live channels (Channel Studio).
Streaming protocols from Wildmoka to YouTube
Wildmoka supports the following streaming protocols:
| PROTOCOL | FORMAT | DESCRIPTION |
| RTMP | FLV | Standard ingest. Supports low latency. |
| HLS | HLS | Higher latency than RTMP but supports monetization via dynamic ad insertion. |
| SRT | MPEGTS | Supports encryption, low latency, and monetization via dynamic ad insertion. |
Note: since April 2026, the YouTube Live connector has been upgraded to stream from Wildmoka to YouTube using SRT alongside RTMP and HLS. Contact your YouTube representative to enable SRT in your YouTube account. Note that YouTube is rolling out SRT access to their customers based on audience size. Once your YouTube account is SRT-enabled, then contact your Backlight representative to enable the feature in your Wildmoka account.
Why this matters: Until now, streaming to YouTube meant choosing between RTMP (low latency, no monetization) or HLS (monetization via dynamic ad insertion, but higher latency). SRT delivers encryption, low latency and monetization altogether, the best of both worlds.
