Audio control is essential for producing polished clips. Use it to duck background music under speech, mute unwanted noise, or smooth transitions between scenes. With audio scene edition, you can split your clip's audio track into scenes (segments) and edit each one individually.

Creating audio scenes

Start by segmenting your audio track into scenes:

  1. Move the playhead to the frame where the audio scene should start.
  2. Click the audio wave icon in the player ribbon menu. This splits the audio track into two scenes at the playhead position. The selected scene is highlighted with a green frame.
  3. Once a scene is created, you can refine its boundaries by dragging the green frame edges left or right. If a scene boundary overlaps with a clip boundary, adjust the clip boundary and the scene will update automatically.

Right-click inside an audio scene to open a popup menu with options to edit or delete the scene.

Editing a scene

Right-click inside the scene and select Edit audio scene from the popup menu.

For each audio scene, you can:

  • Adjust the volume from 0% to 200% to raise, lower, or mute the audio for that scene.
  • Apply fade in / fade out to create smooth transitions at the start and end of a scene. Set the duration in seconds for each independently. You can also click the preset buttons (0.5s, 1.0s, or 2.0s) to apply the same value to both fade in and fade out.
  • Reset to restore the scene to its default values (volume at 100%, no fade in , no fade out).
  • Switch to the previous or next scene using the left and right arrows in the tool title bar.

Deleting a scene

Right-click inside the audio scene and select Delete audio scene from the popup menu.

Deleting a scene removes the segmentation point. The audio signal is preserved, and the scene merges with the previous one.
