Connect to Your Iconik Domain from Wildmoka

The Wildmoka and Iconik integration allows users to seamlessly exchange media assets between the two platforms. With this connection, you can publish content from Wildmoka directly into Iconik, as well as browse and import Iconik assets into Wildmoka for editing and repurposing. This article outlines how to configure and use the integration.

To establish the integration, begin by configuring an Iconik destination in Wildmoka:

  1. In the Wildmoka interface, navigate to Destinations and select Add New Destination.

  2. Locate and select the Iconik logo. This opens a form.

  3. Complete the connection form using your Iconik credentials:

    • App ID and Auth Token: Retrieve these from your Iconik domain. Refer to Iconik documentation for guidance on creating application tokens (Application Token in Iconik).

  4. Define your destination storage :

    • Select the Iconik storage location that will receive assets published from Wildmoka.

    • Select the default transcode profile (i.e. the profile in which the clips publish to your Iconik domain will be transcoded)

  5. Configure your Wildmoka transcoder in Iconik (Optional)

    • Note: This integration allows you to simultaneously transcode assets into two essential formats:

      • The standard Iconik proxy format.

      • The edit-ready Wildmoka format.

      • Assets transcoded to the Wildmoka format will be instantly accessible within the Wildmoka platform, eliminating the need to import and re-transcode them separately in Wildmoka.

    • Prerequisite : Within Iconik, you must create a dedicated storage specifically for the output of these transcoded formats.

    • Storage : Select the storage you want to dedicate to the Wildmoka transcoded format in Iconik.

    • Storage secret : Copy the secret key (Wildmoka needs read/write access).

    • Video format : Select the desired transcoding format.

    • Note :

      • Once the connector is successfully set up, a new Transcoder will appear in Iconik.

      • Add this new transcoder to the storage of your choice. (This storage is for the transcoder input or the assets you are transcoding and must be different from the output storage assigned to the transcoder in the connector form.)

  1. Configure optional access and browsing settings:

    • Allow Iconik Browsing from Wildmoka: Enable to browse and select Iconik assets directly in the Wildmoka UI.

    • Use Dropdown to Select a Collection: Enable to allow users to choose from a list of Iconik collections during publishing (instead of publishing to a fixed collection).

    • Manage Iconik Browse and Publish Access via Email Mapping:
When enabled, Wildmoka maps users to their corresponding Iconik accounts using email addresses:

      • Users browse Iconik using the permissions of their linked Iconik account.

      • Publishing follows the same access rights and restrictions defined in Iconik.

Once saved, your Iconik destination will become available for publishing and/or browsing based on the options you have configured.
