Channel Studio enables you to combine live streams and VOD content within the same continuity playlist for a flexible and dynamic programming experience.
Prerequisite
A Live Room must be created first.

Once created, all Live Rooms are accessible from:
Library → Live Rooms
Adding a Live Room to the Playlist
Open your Channel Studio playlist.
Go to Library → Live Rooms
Drag and drop the desired Live Room into the playlist.
The Live Room behaves as a scheduled item and switches to the live source when it reaches its play time.
Duration of a Live Segment
The duration of the scheduled live segment can be configured in the right-hand settings panel after selecting the segment in the playlist.
Transition Behavior After the Live Segment
Users can choose how the playlist transitions when a live segment ends. Three transition modes are available:
| Mode | Behavior at Scheduled End | If Live Exceeds Scheduled Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Auto (default) | Automatically transitions to the next item | Playlist moves to the next item as soon as the operator stops the live |
| Push | Manual action required to move forward | Following items are pushed later in the timeline |
| Overwrite | Manual action required to move forward | Following items are overwritten (not pushed) as long as the live continues |
