In April Wildmoka delivered a series of powerful enhancements across video editing, graphics, and live streaming that make professional-grade production accessible to any user. From Lottie file support and cinematic effects like Ken Burns, to SRT streaming on YouTube, a centralized Studio Hub for live operations, and AI-powered asset ingestion from Iconik, this update empowers publishers and broadcasters to create and distribute high-quality content faster and at scale.

What's new in this release:

Clip editor: Support of Lottie files

After Singular.live and Hyper Studios, Wildmoka expands its support of animated graphic formats with Lottie files, a lightweight open-source animation format. Animated graphic formats are required for creating professional-looking news titles, speakers’ or sports players presentations lower-thirds, with variable content that can be editable in Wildmoka at clip edition time.

How it works: Wildmoka’s Lottie support leverages the newly released Lottie animation tokens. Lottie tokens let you pass animations with variable content editable in Wildmoka: typically news title, date and location in a breaking news introduction lower-third animation.
To import a new Lottie file in your library of Wildmoka dynamic overlay decorators, go to the “Decorators” menu and pick “Overlays” as decorator type. Drag & drop your Lottie file onto the file upload panel, then click on import.

Once imported, you can add the Lottie lower-third overlay in a clip from the clip editor. Click on “Dynamic overlay”, select your overlay from the library, and edit your metadata from the overlay panel: in the example above, enter the first name, last name, title and location to update the graphics with accurate content.

Why this matters: Lottie files are getting very popular in the industry, both due to their very light size (from a few dozen to a few hundred kilobytes) that make them ideal for web publishing, and thanks to the multiple Lottie plugins that convert Adobe After Effect or Canva animations into Lottie files very easily. Publishers and broadcasters don’t need to redesign their existing graphics and overlay assets anymore.

Feature available since April 9th, 2026.

Clip editor: Ken Burns zoom in/out for image viewports

Zoom in and zoom out effects are commonly used to breathe life into still images, maintain the video's pacing, and keep the audience engaged. In the scene editor, it’s now possible to add Ken Burns zooming effects to an image viewport, still without any advanced video editing skills.

How it works: In the scene editor click on the ‘add image’ button to fill the layout viewport with an image. Then a set of buttons appear next to the ‘add image’ button to let you select a zoom effect to that image across the duration of the scene. Ken Burns (in) is a zoom in effect, Ken Burns (out) a zoom out effect.

Why this matters: These Ken Burns effects typically require advanced reframing and keyframe management with tools such as Adobe Premiere. With this new feature, journalists and social media content creators can take advantage of these preset effects in no time and produce at scale.

Feature available since April 14th, 2026.

Destination: Support SRT in YouTube

Our YouTube Live connector has been upgraded to stream from Wildmoka to YouTube using SRT alongside RTMP and HLS.

How it works: Contact your YouTube representative to enable SRT in your YouTube account. Note that YouTube is rolling out SRT access to their customers based on audience size. Once your YouTube account is SRT-enabled, then contact your Backlight representative to enable the feature in your Wildmoka account.

Why this matters: Until now, streaming to YouTube meant choosing between RTMP (low latency, no monetization) or HLS (monetization via dynamic ad insertion, but high latency). SRT delivers low latency and monetization together, the best of both worlds.

Feature available since April 8th, 2026.

Re-stream: Re-stream button moved to Studio Hub

Re-stream has moved from the legacy clip editor to the Studio Hub, which brings together all live streaming features: Re-stream, Live Rooms, and Channels.

How it works: For customers using the new clip editor, live re-stream is now available from the "Studio Hub" icon in the left-hand menu bar. A dedicated re-stream tab lets you create and configure sessions, then launch the re-stream screen to operate them.

Why this matters: Moving re-stream to Studio Hub centralizes all re-stream operations and session management—past, current, and future—in one place. This gives you a complete view of your live operations, from re-streaming to live production and channel management. In many organizations, different teams handle clipping versus streaming. The new design gives each team its own workspace, reducing context-switching between tools.

Feature available since April 8th, 2026.

File upload: Iconik AI-powered asset import

Wildmoka now supports the advanced asset upload from Iconik, enabling AI processing for speech-to-text and AutoReZone for clips at upload time. This feature addresses customers using both Iconik for asset management and Wildmoka for their digital distribution strategy.

With this feature, customers can use Wildmoka AI features for Iconik assets that initially weren’t ingested through the Wildmoka ingest pipeline.

How it works: From Wildmoka content management workspace, click on "Browse External Storage" to access your Iconik assets. From there, the asset menu item “Advanced upload” triggers the asset import with AI capabilities, equivalent to Wildmoka's standard advanced file upload workflow.

The option “Enable live speech-to-text” gives access to live transcription, text-based clipping, caption editing, and automated metadata fulfilment.

The option “Enable Auto ReZone” gives access to AutoReZone for clips, a feature that automatically reframes the video and selects the best vertical layout templates for every scene within the clip.

Note that Wildmoka AI speech-to-text and AutoReZone for Clips are optional add-ons subject to subscription.

Why this matters: This integration streamlines the asset import process for teams working with Iconik, while unlocking Wildmoka AI-powered enrichment at ingest time — eliminating the need to re-process assets after import.

Feature available since April 14th, 2026.
