This release helps Wildmoka editorial teams work faster and more flexibly across the full content lifecycle — with richer scene editing with B-roll images, streamlined podcast distribution via Megaphone and greater audio control for live re-streaming — all without requiring advanced technical skills or switching between tools.
What's new in this release:
Scene editor: select an image as B-roll
How it works: A new button in the scene editing panel lets you select (or deselect) an image to replace the video in the viewport. The image appears centered in the viewport. In this release, you cannot reframe the image.
Why this matters: This feature supports two common editorial workflows:
- Show related visuals: display an image of what the speaker is discussing, such as a map, portrait, or document. Works well in a two-viewport layout with the speaker on top and the topic image below.
- Add mid-roll images or slates: Fill a scene with an image. Control exactly when it appears and disappears by adjusting the scene boundaries.
Feature available since 3/26/2026.
Destination: Megaphone podcast syndication platform
Wildmoka now supports Megaphone for audio and video podcast hosting and syndication. This follows previous integrations with Acast and Simplecast.
How it works: Megaphone can be made available as a standard destination for all customers at no additional cost - please contact your Backlight representative for enabling this destination.
From the Publish panel, select a Megaphone account and publish your clip as a new podcast episode. Supported features include:
- Create podcast episodes
- Publish as audio-only (M4A) or audio+video (MP4)
- Add episode titles, descriptions, media type (Audio or Video), and thumbnails
- Schedule or publish episodes to fit your workflow
- Get direct access links to published episodes on Megaphone
Why this matters: Megaphone ranks among the top 3 podcast hosting platforms for shows with over 10,000 listeners. Its advertising and monetization capabilities make it the go-to choice for enterprise-level shows and publishers.
With Wildmoka, broadcasters, podcast producers, and influencers can now publish video clips to social media and audio/video podcasts to hosting platforms—all from one workflow, with a single click.
Feature available since 3/26/2026.
Re-stream: Enable audio track selection on live events
For scheduled events on streams with multiple audio tracks, you can now select a specific audio track and set it as the default.
How it works: Audio track selection was previously available only for live streams. Now you can select the audio track when scheduling the event or during the re-stream session itself using the new audio track selection control in the PREVIEW monitor. You can also define the default audio track in your event template and adjust it during re-stream if needed.
Why this helps: Choose and adjust audio tracks for scheduled events before or during re-stream, giving you the flexibility to deliver the right audio experience for every broadcast.
Feature available since 3/26/2026.
