In May, Wildmoka new features focus on usability and user autonomy. The clip editor gains a one-click background blur for letterbox layouts, Channel Studio gets folder organization for block libraries, and Live Studio now lets customers configure their own live room settings directly from Studio Hub.
What's new in this release:
Clip editor: Background blur in video scenes
The clip editor's scene panel now lets you create letterbox layout scenes with blurred backgrounds — no video editing skills required.
How it works: The feature is available for all nine image aspect ratios supported in Wildmoka. In the video scene layout, select one of the proposed letterbox layout templates and you're done. You can customize the output by reframing the background video and/or adjusting the blur level.
Why this matters: Converting a native 16:9 clip into a blurred background letterbox layout requires video editing expertise and time-consuming work with tools like Adobe Premiere. Now, any user can achieve the same result in just a few clicks. Wildmoka layout editor empowers any user to produce professional-looking video layouts at scale.
Feature available since May 28, 2026.
Channel Studio: use folders to organize your content blocks
Users can now organize their block library into folders, making it easier to navigate and find the right block — especially as libraries grow.
How it works: In Channel Studio's Library panel, the Blocks tab now includes new icons for creating, renaming, and deleting folders. Drag and drop blocks into the relevant folders. Users can search for blocks within a specific folder or across all folders.
Why this matters: As your channel content library grows, scanning through hundreds of blocks to find the right one becomes slow and error-prone. Folder structures bring clarity, speed, and efficiency.
Feature available since May 20, 2026.
Live Studio: configure live room settings
Customers can now configure their live room settings directly from the new Studio Hub section. Configuration options include the live room output stream and SCTE triggers for launching ad breaks or mid-rolls.
How it works: From Studio Hub, go to the Live Rooms tab and open the pop-up menu (the three-dot icon at the far right of your selected live room). Click the new Settings entry to configure your live room.
Why this matters: Some customers update their mid-roll configuration several times a month. Previously, this required Backlight representatives to make the changes; customers can now manage it themselves, saving time and simplifying their workflows.
Feature available since May 20, 2026.
